Which style — A, B, or C — is right for my space?
Style A (wide) has the most visual presence — the diameter expands from 5.9 to 11.8 inches as height increases, making it best for living rooms, statement bedroom walls, or any space where the sconce should be the focal point. Style B (slim) maintains a constant 2.8-inch diameter regardless of height — ideal for narrow hallways, bedside walls where it shouldn’t dominate, or minimalist interiors where a near-invisible pencil form is the goal. Style C (mid) splits the difference — a moderate taper that works well in dining rooms, studies, and hotel corridors where balanced proportion is needed.
Does this wall sconce require an electrician to install?
Yes — the Leto is a hardwired wall sconce. It connects directly to the wall’s electrical wiring and must be controlled via an existing or newly installed wall switch. In the US, hardwired fixture installation must comply with local electrical codes; a licensed electrician is recommended. There is no plug-in cord option. How high on the wall should the Leto be mounted?
For a bedroom bedside sconce, mount the center of the fixture at roughly 60–65 inches from the floor — this places it at comfortable eye level when sitting up in bed. For a hallway or living room, 66–72 inches (5.5–6 feet) from the floor is standard — high enough to avoid head clearance issues but low enough to cast useful ambient light on the lower half of the room. For the tall 130 cm versions, ensure the bottom of the shade clears a minimum of 7 feet from the floor.
Can the silicone rope shade be cleaned, and is it durable?
Silicone rope is highly durable — it doesn’t yellow, crack, or degrade under normal indoor temperatures or UV conditions from nearby windows the way fabric or plastic shades can. For cleaning, a damp cloth with mild soap along the weave crevices is sufficient. The rope weave may trap dust over time; a soft brush or compressed air works well for routine maintenance. The black metal body can be wiped with a dry cloth — avoid solvents on the matte finish.
Is the Leto compatible with a dimmer switch?
The Leto uses an integrated LED module. Whether dimming is supported depends on the specific LED module in your unit — contact us before ordering if dimmer compatibility is a requirement for your project. Connecting a non-dimmable LED module to a dimmer switch can cause flickering, reduced lifespan, or damage to the module. The fixture connects to a standard on/off wall switch included in your existing wiring.
