Inspiration
The Velune Wall Sconce started from a folding hand fan pinned open on a wooden wall in an old summer house, its fine pleats spread out in a half circle against the dark grain of the boards. On warm evenings the lamp in the corner lit it from behind, and every fold showed. We kept that open fan shape and the wood behind it, made the fan from pleated fabric, and added a small pull chain to switch it on.

FAQ
How do I turn it on?
Give the pull chain a tug to turn the light on or off at the sconce, so you can switch it from bed or a reading chair without walking to a wall switch.
Where should I mount it?
At 30cm/11.8″ wide and 20cm/7.9″ tall, it suits a bedside wall, a reading nook or a hallway. A pair on each side of a bed is the most common setup.
Can I use it in a bathroom or outdoors?
It is damp rated for bathrooms and covered outdoor areas such as a porch under a roof. Keep it out of direct shower spray and rain, and dust the fabric pleats regularly.
Is a bulb included, and how is it installed?
Yes. It comes with one E26 or E27 bulb in warm 3000K light. E26 is the standard screw base used in the US. It is hardwired to a wall junction box, so we recommend a licensed electrician for installation.
