Where does this ceiling light work best?
At ∅ 9.8″ × H 5.9″ the Carapace is a compact, sculptural ceiling light. It suits entryways, hallways, walk-in closets, creative studios and small dining nooks – and looks striking installed in a row of two or three along a corridor.
Will it work with my ceiling height?
Yes – at just 5.9″ (15 cm) tall it suits low and standard ceilings. On an 8 ft ceiling it leaves about 7 ft 6 in (229 cm) of clearance, comfortably above the recommended 7 ft minimum for walkways. It is hardwired to a standard ceiling junction box and controlled by a common wall switch (not included). We recommend installation by a licensed electrician.
What bulbs do you recommend?
This fixture takes G9 bulbs. Use G9 LED bulbs at about 3–5W in warm white (2700 K); compact LEDs fit neatly inside the opal glass globe and stay cool. Bulbs are not included. G9 & G4 bulb guide →
How do I clean it?
Dust the textured rings with a soft, dry brush, working along the grooves. Wipe the opal glass with a soft, slightly damp microfiber cloth and dry it straight away; avoid water on the wood and never use polishes or abrasive cleaners. Switch off at the wall and let the bulb cool first.
